How to Apply for International Driving Permit

To apply, you must visit your nearest RTO along with the required documents and pay the application fees. The processing takes about 3-4 days after which the license will be handed over to you.
Formalities for IDP
The procedure for International Driving Permit requires you to submit a duly filled form. It is known as Form 4 or Form for the issue of International Driving Permit. You can pick the Form from your nearest RTO. It requires some basic information such as your name, address, driving license number, the country of visit and the duration of stay etc.
The processing fee for the IDP is INR 1000. You are required to make the payment while submitting the form along with any other documents.

- The individual must be at least 18 years of age.
- The individual must have a valid driving license.
- The individual must submit the official form along with 3 passport size photographs to the concerned authorities.

- A duly filled Form 4.
- A copy of your flight tickets.
- A copy of your driver’s license.
- A copy of your passport and visa.
- Medical certificate as mentioned in the application form.
- 5 passport size photographs of the applicant.
- A copy of the address proof of the applicant.
- A copy of the age proof of the applicant.
- Any proof of citizenship of India.
- Lastly, application fees of INR 1000.
