In order to promote safe & sustainable mobility in India, the Indian government has introduced the amendment in the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. This act consists of 63 provisions that deal with licenses, penalties, registration, and the National Transport Policy. The amendments to the Motor Vehicle Act were passed by the Parliament recently but most have come into effect from September 1, 2019. The Digilocker app is a part of the Government's Digital India initiative and is available both on web portals and on mobile applications. It is a digital locker where you can store all your necessary documents and can use them whenever necessary. The Digilocker app can be linked with your mobile phone number and your Aadhar card as well. It enables you to store the digital format or scanned format of your necessary documents and thus eliminates the need to carry your physical documents with yourself to all places. DigiLocker App is available on Google Playstore and Apple App store.
